Since 2000 right after WP

Of all the records since then, DE was the only one I immediately thought was amazing at release, but in hindsight I put most of them on a near level playing field. Broken record, but Gore is only toward the lower end of the rankings because of production

 

do we know who they’re working with this time around?

Why is everyone saying how long they've been a fan lol

 

lol dunno but it was kind of amazing realizing I’ve listening to them for nearly two decades

 

I guess I became a fan around S/T era, but White Pony was the first album of theirs I heard.

Honestly the longer I listen to this band, the harder it becomes to rank their work. Adrenaline is the only album of theirs I think is less than great.

 

Tenure as a fan literally means nothing when it comes to what you think is good.

 

mmm I think that spending a lot of time with things changes yr perspective

not saying one view is more or less valid, but time does reveal

and

I do love things (records) that take their sweet time revealing themselves

Yeah I saw it on their Facebook after I commented. I think it’s just on Chorus on my phone I can’t see it for some reason.

 

I think a lot of Deftones fans would appreciate the new album from VOLA, a progressive metal/rock band from Denmark. Their music blends at times crushingly heavy riffs with soaring synth-pop melodies and incredible atmospheric vocals.

 

I get Junius vibes from that which is great. Nice find!

 

The whole album is super diverse... the other single “Smartfriend” is way heavier than this one for instance. Definitely worth a listen!

Barely needs saying but it is ridiculous how good White Pony is.

 

That's a name I haven't heard in a while. I need to check out their latest album.

Koi No Yokan is now my favorite Deftones album I think. Thought it was Diamond Eyes for a long time because I always went back to that album the most out of their “newer” albums... but I think I never spent quite enough time with KNY because of that. They were really on a roll with both of those albums.

 

I think it’s my favorite, too.
