It's cause the mood is all over the place. If they arranged the songs better the flow could have made sense

I strangely am not a fan of most of Deftones' albums - of course White Pony is a classic, but the only other one I really revisit and enjoy all of is Koi No Yokan

 

Koi no constantly blows me away, all their albums are awesome but that one always takes it to another level for me

 

Rosemary into Goon Squad is just brilliant.

 

Koi No Yokan is on par with White Pony imo. Both Deftones in top form.

 

Agreed. If their next album is similar to either I’d be stoked (more so KNY).

I do absolutely love how moody and heavy S/T is so I wouldn’t be upset if they went for something like that too.

 

Yeah S/T and Diamond Eyes are both incredibly solid too.

Really they could go in any of those 4 directions and I wouldnt be disappointed.

 

yeah - I thought they said they were working on something new a year ago and then we had the live album and then they went silent

that debut album is incredible I just want to see where they take it to

 

Yeah TS album is soooo good. It deserves a proper follow up

 

Wonder what this could mean? Seen a couple of people mention Chino's relation of colours to music so could be a hint for the next album possibly?

Would be kind of fascinating after the general color scheme Gore seemed to have, switching it up so much

 

Man say what you will about Gore as a whole, but Xenon still slaps.

 

That riff is so trippy. Chorus isn't my favorite but still a cool song

Yeah listened to it yesterday and it's a way more consistent album than I'd given it credit for previously.

 

Gore is great. The production holds it back as being their best.

 

Been a huge Deftones fan since 1995 - Can honestly say that i've hardly listened to Gore (aside from Phantom Bride and Doomed User) - It just did absolutely nothing for me, and i'd probably rank it equal with Saturday Night Wrist as their worst album.

 

This. I’ve been a massive fan since Around the Fur was released in 97. Gore didn’t do much for me either outside of a couple songs. To me, their last “great” record was DE

lol I’ve been a fan since 2000, but I fuck with all their albums cuz they’re my favorite band. Plus they put a loooot of work into everything they do.

Gore is bottom tier Deftones (still ok) - I still think it’s kind of weird that it didn’t do much for me
