I have really only been a casual fan most of the time but I love several tracks off of White Pony (Digital Bath, Back to School, Change, Elite) and several off of Koi No Yokan (Tempest, Leathers, Swerve City) so it would be hard to choose between those two.

Nothing has ever really connected with me off of Saturday Night Wrist, Diamond Eyes or the self-titled.

Best track, head says My Own Summer, heart says Swerve City. Swerve City is my fuckin jam and toast

 

WP, ATF, and DE are my holy trinity as of late.

 

WP and KNY are my favorites. Seems like I might be in the minority as preferring KNY over a lot of the others. WP was life changing for me as a 12 year old, and I really don't think my taste in music would be the same without it.

 

KNY definitely rounds out my top 5 along with S/T. I think it’s damn near perfect.

 

This is how I feel except about KNY not DE.

 

Yeah I’ve always said this about Diamond Eyes myself

 

I was listening to Gore the other day and I feel like this is their most complete album. I also am not a big fan of the self titled album.

 

I love the diversity of opinions on this band haha

 

I only see negativity for Gore on Reddit. I’m glad most people here dig it. I still love it despite wishing it sounded better. The songwriting itself is fantastic.

 

Everyone complains about the production on gore but, while it's (gore) never bothered me, KNY has some rough to sit trough production

 

I guess my holy trinity is WP, SNW, DE.

Pony and Wrist especially were massively influential to me as a teenager.

 

I think some feel it may be wrong to consider Koi No Yokan the best due to how new it is in their catalog, but that album is a beauty and plays out perfectly. I can't pick a favorite between SNW, DE or KNY as their best. But it's definitely one of them.

 

KNY has my favorite production, haha

 

kny is mastered extremely hot but i still love the really layered sound of tracks like "leathers" and "rosemary"

 

I mean, I feel like all of them sound different enough to really give them their own vibe, and I don't dislike any of them. Gore is definitely the most jarring, and maybe Chino's vocal production on Self-Titled.

 

It doesn't sound nearly as full to me as Diamond eyes

 

It's interesting to me that so often with Deftones these conversations boil down to production. The songwriting is never really in doubt.

 

If someone asked you to play a song for them to get them into the band, which one song do you play?

 

Oh goodness. It would all depend on what they were into. Top 5 would be:
Change
Minerva
Be Quiet and Drive
Digital Bath
Entombed

Maybe? I don't know.

Those are all perfect. Maybe Hexagram to demonstrate their heavy side?

 

Yeah that's a good one, I also thought about Poltergeist or Gore. Something Heavy off Diamond Eyes or SNW since those wouldn't be represented. Too much awesome material to boil down to a song or even 5.
