The way I see, they're both playing each other's albums that broke them into a new realm of success for their careers. White Pony changed the game for metal while Appeal To Reason found mainstream success for Rise Against
On another note, I'm listening to SNW this morning and I'm convinced that Hole In The Earth -> Rapture -> Beware -> Cherry Waves is the best stretch of songs in their discography
I didn't know that, I always thought Rise Against were already mainstream by the time that album came out.
Not bad, but I think the last 3 songs on Gore are their best stretch of songs back to back. The Good Left Undone, Ready to Fall and Prayer got them some radio play, but Re Education and especially Savoir blew up huge.
I've never been a fan of them aside from a few songs, but I remember they started to blow up back when Appeal To Reason came out. Never really heard of them before that album
oh wow I totally forgot about the images in the video. Hmm, I'm not a HUGE fan of Appeal to Reason but for White Pony I could prob deal with it.
Why do people think their going to play White Pony and Appeal To Reason for their 17th and 9th anniversaries respectively?
Yeah I'm pretty sure they were just using each other's records to announce they were touring together, not that those specific albums would be played.
I think it's just an ordinary joint tour and people are reading too much into the choice of albums in those videos.
Right, that's what I was thinking. And for whatever it's worth I didn't see the RA video but I did see them post a pic on FB of a bunch of Deftones records so, from my perspective, there was never a specific album named like White Pony
I mean I thought it was weird but I just associate the horse with White Pony (for obvious reasons) but looking back on Rise Against I forgot they use that logo in The Black Market too so oops. I dunno whether I feel better or worse about that though because I'm not super crazy about Rise Against post Sufferer and the Witness anyway but I'm sure they're cool live.
Nah, when I said "they're both playing each other's albums" I merely meant how Deftones was playing Appeal To Reason on vinyl and RA supposedly playing White Pony. Never once thought they were going to play these albums in their entireties on this supposed tour. Seems you just read my post entirely wrong
Hmm, the post was deleted. I'm assuming it was announced too early? Anyways, there was a Boston date so I'm there.
Their name is first, so I think headlining but even if they play last, co headlining means Rise would just play for the same amount of time right?
