I actually kinda like how KNY sounds tbh. I think the production being a little cleaner made for an interesting dynamic with the music. Idk I just really love that album, in general, more than most seem to. It's honestly probably my second favorite Deftones record at this point.
S/T then KNY then WP then the rest are pretty equal Haven't revisited Gore in a minute but it's still a pretty stellar album
Played Geometric Headdress for the first time the other night which means there's only three songs from Gore they haven't played yet. Glad they've changed the setlist up this tour.
Xenon is in my bottom three for the album, along with Doomed User and Pittura Infamante, but all are good songs though.
Pittura grew on me so much. It's a bit of a different sound for them. Smashing Pumpkins-ish, I guess? Acid Hologram, Hearts/Wires, (L)MIRL, Gore, and Phantom Bride are still my faves.
I'm glad I gave Gore a rest, because I returned to it recently and fell in love with it again. Some production issues aside, it's such an interesting and amazing album.
Did the same thing recently. I'm notorious for overplaying records when they first are released. I usually take a month or so break from them and come back to, like you said, fall in love with them all over again.
Diamond Eyes is my #1 for sure. I also gave Gore a break around June and July, but revisiting it this month has been great. I still love it and it's probably my #2 album from this band now.
White Pony, S/T, and KNY all have a shot at being my favorite at any given time. Gore, DE, and ATF are next in that order. Great records, just not up to par with the other 3. SNW is my least favorite but the shoe-gaze influence and the songwriting is really good, just don't like the production and again, not quite up to par with the previous albums but still a good album. Don't really listen to the debut I really love this band, probably my favorite discovery of 2016
