It feels unreal watching The Mars Volta right now, knowing Deftones is about to start their biggest tour ever, right here in Portland. Last tour also started here. Will report back later!

I honestly had no idea. Looked her up and it’s “Teri Gender Bender” and she sounded great.

Here’s the crazy part: I didn’t realize till I looked at the set list, but they literally played their entire new album that’s not out yet. News about it leaked a month ago. Wow. We got a special experience of being the first audience to hear that. Very cool.

Oh I assumed it was her but wasn't sure. It's cool that she's on their new album. She's married to Omar and part of many bands as well.

So, Deftones were incredible. Much better than 2022. The visuals were wild. Superb lighting design. The mix was great and you could hear Chino’s vocals clearly. These guys are at the top of their game and it showed tonight. Was surprised to hear Prayers/Triangles in the setlist, but it was one of my favs from that album, so bonus for me. Awesome set. No new songs. If you’re going to this tour, you’re in a damn good ride.

carlosonthedrums, you should feel proud of the work you did on the Lighting and LED package. It was awesome. :100::fire:

Merch designs were alright, but love to see they’re using Comfort Colors shirts. They fit decently and hold up long-term.

There was some confusion towards the end cause they left the stage, did a 3-song encore, and then walked off again but the house lights didn't come up for a few min. Considering they've been ending every set with 7 Words for a while, I should've known better ha.

Making my pics thumbnails to not spoil for those that don’t wanna see the stage early.

The lighting/stage set up for Crosses on their tour last year was 10/10 so I have no doubt they brought it for this tour as well

Is Stephen on this tour, or is he still not touring at all?

Yes, he’s playing on this tour. He sounded great as always. Love when he has the fan blowing his hair back while he’s playing.

Not too hyped on the setlist, but their stage setup and visuals look absolutely insane. Bummed to be missing this.

Gonna try for Dia De Los Deftones this year instead

That's my plan for Madison Square Garden in April. Just gonna wait and see, but that would be amazing!

In Seattle. Not sure if Fleshwater translates well in this arena setting unfortunately.

I appreciate The Mars Volta’s art, but everyone’s just standing here confused haha. Their music is hard to follow in general and now soaking up unreleased music in a live setting? Brilliant decision by Deftones to have them set up the headliner haha.

Deftones setlist exact same as Portland's. They’re on point. Chino sounds as good as ever. They’ve still got it in case anyone’s wondering. Incredible lights/video show. The atmosphere was electric.
