I’ll never be able to make it to this, but I always love how varied the lineup is. I’m not sure who’s curating (band or otherwise) but kudos to them.

Embarassingly new to Deftones. Around the Fur was my album of the summer, 26 years after it came out. "Dai The Flu" is my favorite song.

This is the album that made me love Deftones. Appropriate summer listening, imo

 

Around the Fur is perfect and continues to age gracefully. The jump in production value and songwriting from Adrenaline to that record is just insane. A great intro to the band.

 

I heard My Own Summer in 1998 and it was all over from there. A flawless album.

You guys were right their whole discography is like, perfect? Also, I'm sufficiently bummed out that Chino never featured on an Every Time I Die song or Keith Buckley never featured on a Deftones song. No explanation, just vibes.

White Pony for me in... 2003 or 2004? Can't remember exactly. Had been listening to alt radio rock up until that point, totally changed the trajectory of my music tastes, and understanding that searching out and discovering new music was a thing. Passenger was the one that stayed on repeat for 12-13 year old me.

 

I know DGD is in bad standings with a lot of people currently (rightfully so), but if you've never listened to Caviar off their Self Titled album it's a good listen featuring Chino.

EDIT: Also I think I remember reading a track by track for Low Teens where someone on ETID said Nothing Visible: Ocean Empty was basically them writing their version of a Deftones song.

EDIT 2, sorry: Also just remembered I really liked Chino's feature on the newest Polyphia album, that one's called Bloodbath

 

I'm old so I was 16 when ATF came out in '97, and as soon as I saw the My Own Summer video, I was hooked and they've been my favorite band since then.

 

I was like 10 or 11 listening to a song about knife play like this is awesome they are like ninjas

 

Revisited Ohms last week and man does that album still rip. They were just firing on all cylinders front to back. Confident calling it one of their best.

 

It's easily my #4 which is a high compliment since White Pony, Diamond Eyes & self-titled will always be my 1-3 ranking.

 

Swap Diamond Eyes for Koi No Yokan and I could've written the same post!
