They straight up cancelled their Dublin show, didn't even push it to next year. I hope we get a new date for 2022 because I NEED TO SEE THIS BAND
Damn, understandable but sad to see. My new date is only a week before my birthday so I suppose that can be a fun birthday present 2022 for me
Yeah when I saw all these bands announcing fall tours I knew this was gonna happen. I had tickets with my friends for that SF date. Now our Thrice show will be postponed as well.
I was literally minutes from purchasing a ticket for our date before they delayed. Kinda bummed to see our date being switched to first, because it’ll be their first show since 2019 and I know some bands don’t sound as great at the beginning of some tours. I’ll be interested to see how many of those tickets end up back on the market because of refunds. Still may buy a ticket.
Fans of Deftones should check out the band Blanket's new album "Modern Escapism" that dropped last week! Really incredible atmospheric blend of prog metal, post-rock and shoegaze. Very reminiscent of Deftones at times, but still its own thing.
Awesome, can’t wait to dive in. Stef did the entirety of Around the Fur on YouTube (yes, the ENTIRE album) and it was amazing watching him play those riffs.
I skipped to a random spot (~48 minutes in) and he talks some about Stef's views on certain things. Definitely will give this a full listen at some point.
I'm still a little disappointed we didn't get album artwork more in keeping with the hole in the earth cover
Saw this Shaun Lopez tweet from months ago. Clearly Chino has not given us enough Depeche Mode covers. Hopefully won't have to wait too long for new Crosses.
been listening to this band a lot (as per usual lol) and it’s really becoming clear to me just how wonderful Chi was as a bassist. I love how often he sits back and waits for the right moment to drop in. I love how he tends to kinda “smear” what the guitar is doing. I love how much he’ll employ dissonance in his lines, sometimes to the point when you solo out his parts you could almost be convinced he was playing a different song (thinking on Minerva as a specific example here), but when in the contextual whole he’s always somehow doing exactly what he should. I love Serg and think he’s a great fit for where the band is at now, but there’s just something special about the spirit Chi brought to their older work. felt relevant to link this
