I listened this morning on the commute and didn't really get it to start with, but got in and started work with my headphones on and 'felt' it a lot more. Its massively atmospheric and sounscape-y. It makes me want to listen over and over so that I can hear new things and pick out new sounds.
Self titled is my new favorite thing. Can't wait to delve deeper. Put S/T, WP, and Gore on my phone to listen to while I work
Allow me to gush for a moment: I love how dynamic and varied this band is, both musically and lyrically. Keeps things interesting and makes every song a treat. Love it. Can't wait to listen to the others.
Downloaded. With my job I'm driving between my accounts to stock beer/make displays. So it's a perfect time to digest new music when I'm in my car going to, and from them. Quickly listened to Phantom Bride because of all the mentions it's getting, and was surprised at how soothing it was. Idk I was expecting a banger, and was pleasantly surprised. Gonna start my full listen soon.
Have you listened to koi no Yokan yet? Oh boy. A lot of people are suggesting DE after WP, but in my opinion KNY does everything DE did but way better. Listening to the new album now. Really cool. Production is way different, especially the guitars and drums.
What's everyone's favorite song on Gore? Mine is obviously Rubicon, followed closely by Acid Hologram.
just had my first listen, going to have to blast this on a good pair of headphones after work. its good, but i dont think it's hit me yet...
Listened to the album front to back twice now and I'm really not feeling anything about it. I kind of understand why Carpenter wasn't totally invested in this sound either. Maybe I'll grow on me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Gore has lived up to the hype. After just my initial go through I'm going to say it's one of my favorites.
I think it really speaks to the quality of this record that seemingly everyone has a different favorite song. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts, but most of those parts are pretty fucking fantastic, too.
