take: Teenager is one of the best songs on White Pony, despite being treated like an interlude by mostly everybody

 

Wow, I didn’t realize people thought this. I love that song. I do that drum beat in my head all the damn time.

 

Who the hell treats Teenager like an interlude!? I’ll throw hands

 

I’ve been off them for quite a while now but hearing that Terry Date is working with them again... whew boy. Now I’m super excited for it.

 

Maybe people don't quite treat it like an interlude but it certainly doesn't get the respect it deserves. People see it more as like a detour from the bangers than the risky, beautiful song than it is. Whenever people talk about White Pony I feel like that song never comes up

 

The B Sides & Rarities version of Teenager is so good

 

Teenager creates a mood on WP that rides out the entire rest of the album. Tracks 3-5 are all over the place in terms of mood imo but teenager pulls everything together

 

my other Teenager take is I don't like this version of it at all. the White Pony version has a very specific air to it that it loses if it doesn't sound exactly the way it does

 

Speaking of the b-sides album, that cover of No Ordinary Love is otherworldly.

The chorus of Battleaxe is stomach churning. Actual most underrated song

 

Seeing them play that last year out of nowhere is one of my favourite music experiences ever.

I paired with a guy named "Chino" in Overwatch last week. Turns out he was just Chinese and had no clue who the Deftones were.
