Most of those align with either when I first heard them or when they were released. I know WP was released in Spring, but I first heard it in the dead of winter ‘02 6th grade winter break. Changed my life.

 

I'm down for an experimental Deftones album. Hell, just new Deftones music is enough to satiate me

 

A guy on Deftones subreddit said he bumped into Chino in a bar the other day, supposedly on the way back from recording in LA. Some interesting tidbits from his conversation, including that instruments from the new album are apparently recorded, with vocals still to be done. The dude wouldn't divulge some of the things Chino said but the stuff he did say does seem to match up.



If that's true then presumably a late 2019/early 2020 release?

 

I don’t believe it. Unless an announcement comes Monday I can’t imagine Chino giving up that info to a random fan.

I'm not completely decided. But the details (mainly from his replies in the comments) do seem to match up from the little bits that could be put together online. The bit about them recording in a big studio for the last month especially.

 

I mean he's offered so little that we didn't already know that it almost doesn't matter if it's true or not lol. Still, lovely story if it is true.

Probably my most anticipated album at this point.

 

Does Chino live in Bend?

The story could be bullshit but I’m gonna take it as factual.

 

I found out that thing about Terry Date yesterday and lost my shit!

Very excited if indeed he is doing the album.

It would be great to have Date back, although they've arguably had the best half of their career without him

But hey, maybe Date back at the helm coupled with the songwriting chops of the last few albums is gonna make this their best yet.

No. The guy who runs that account is very well known in the Deftones bootleg community and I think he runs Sharing Lungs now too if I’m not mistaken. That’s the same channel that I post all those live videos from.

Terry Date is producing the next Deftones album and all is right again in the world of Deftones
