Anyone know if tomorrow's show at Jones Beach is a 6:30 START time or 6:30 doors? Old man here having to schelp out there via train from Manhattan with a never ending list of corporate tasks to do.
That's what I'm trying to figure out. My ticket just says 6:30, yet the Jones Beach site (which seems like it was made GeoCities styles in the 90's) says DOORS at 6:30. Basically, trying to avoid rushing out there to stand around for an hour before Thrice comes on. Anyone who's been to previous shows know if set times have been consistent?
updated live nation link says show at 6:30. I would definitely get there by 6:45 if you want to be in to see thrice. Seems to be selling super poorly though. Nosebleeds are on sale for $15 right now and there's still face value GA section tickets on sale.
Have Deftones and Rise Against been switching back and forth so far, or has one of them always been closing?
Thanks. Biggest pain in the ass is trying to get back to the train station afterwards. Doesn't always seem to be a lot of cabs.
Anyone else a bit let down with Deftones' set? They were playing bangers like Teething, Minus Blindfold, and Battle Axe in Europe a couple months ago. On this tour I feel like it's all the usual stuff.
Well, they are only playing for about an hour and this tour is catered to the masses so I'm not sure what you expected. Although I am glad they aren't playing those three songs. I could also do without Lhabia and Back To School, but the rest of it looks good to me.
Has this tour not been selling well or something? Jones Beach was pretty empty last night. Thrice was god damn incredible last night.
I wish. Ubers were all like 20 min out. Grabbed a cab slighlty early, dude charged me $40 since there were no other passengers but it was worth it to not have to wait an hour for the next train. Solid show last night, place was EMPTY. Also, word of advice for anyone who wants to drink at Jones Beach shows since they've finally been able to serve alcohol. You can't bring your drink into the venue and the lines to get into the alcohol area are long so, leave towards the back half of the last song in each band's set. Otherwise, don't bother.
I was actually a bit let down they only played one off Gore. I missed them last summer when they were leaning on it more so was hoping to hear a few more tracks from it. Honestly, I'd be cool if Deftones did like a 2006-onwards tour. Been seeing them since 2000 and I'm a bit burnt out on White Pony, Around The Fur and Adrenaline songs.
Makes total sense man. In '06 (when I was about 12) I heard the intro to Minerva in the House of Wax movie and was hooked ever since. Didn't get to see them until 2012 and then a couple times since. Would love to see some old school stuff.
I think it's hard for Chino to sing a lot of stuff off Gore. It seems that this is the case with a lot of the newer music. He sings stuff in the studio that's very hard for him to pull off live.
Stephen does not like Gore and that's putting it lightly. Even last summer, out of a 20-song setlist, they only played three from Gore. They never play much from it.
I've been to that place before to see Arcade Fire in 2010 because I couldn't make their Madison Square Garden date. Cannot imagine this tour playing that venue.
