"Elite" is in a Lord Slug movie I believe. You should check that song out. It's off the same record as "Change" and it's an absolute banger. Won a Grammy.
I'm willing to bet Steph doesn't care for the record. I'm sure he just didn't see any purpose in continuing to bash it.
I read somewhere that they're looking to get into the studio sooner rather than later. I would be ecstatic if Chino gave the reigns to Steph and they put out a fuckin monster. They're only getting older. Better crank out those bangers while they still can.
Went to the Raleigh show last night; wasn't expecting them to play Sextape, Prince, or Passenger last night, and I felt all the feels. I also remember watching a video at least a year ago where they played Passenger live and brought out Tim from Rise Against to do Maynard's part; they did the same shit was night.
I'm so mad. Passenger and Prince are two of my favorite Deftones songs. Boston's set was super weak. No surprises.
Prince is honestly my least favorite song off of Diamond Eyes. I don't hate it, but I would've like to hear Phantom Bride or Hearts/Wires in its place. My hope is that Deftones does a headlining run in the fall.
Last night's show was fantastic. I was like a foot from Chino and he was screaming in my face. It was bliss.
Late to responding here, but I was at that show. The Deftones absolutely killed it, both in terms of energy and the set list. The song flow worked ridiculously well, in my opinion. Conversely, Rise Against felt like they were on cruise control. Maybe it's that I've seen them quite a few times over the last few years but it was basically just a bunch of singles. More of the same... They're still a great live band, but at a certain point there's diminishing returns unless bands switch it up in terms of song selection, etc.
Ditto; second time I've seen RA, and I've heard nothing but singles live. Deftones always play a wide variety of stuff from their catalog.
I went to RA's free show in Chicago a couple months ago and they played Black Masks & Gasoline, Everchanging, State of the Union and Blood Red White and Blue. Pretty much accepting I'll never see a set like that out of them again lol
Maybe I missed it but is there a pattern of who goes first between RA and Deftones? Is it based on market or are they really switching off every other night? Trying to figure out who's going first in Denver tonight
It's probably listed in the order they will play on the venue's website or livenation.com I thought they were switching off every other night, but apparently Deftones closed all of the Texas shows, so... edit: looks like Rise Against is closing the Denver show.
