I don't really do end-of-year rankings, but this is easily my favorite album of 2025. Floored me on first listen and still continues to kill it for me.
Seven songs from Private Music on the first night of the European tour https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/deftones/2026/adidas-arena-paris-france-2b455ca6.html Feels like they believe in this album a bit more than they did the previous two, which they tended to only play a couple from on their respective album cycles.
Saw them last night in Brussels. Good atmosphere, Chino looked like he was having a great time. But man, that venue has such a horrible sound. It's like they're playing in a metal box. So much resonance. Also fun to see so many young people. The Tiktok-hype is real. Sextape and Rosemary got them all going.
Great show at the O2 tonight. The seven new songs fitted in seamlessly. Great setlist. Sextape and Cherry Waves particularly gorgeous. Chino covering every bit of the stage. Loads of fun. I had been a touch worried because last year's show at Crystal Palace Park was easily my least favourite time seeing them, but tonight confirmed to me that it was mostly an indoors vs outdoors thing. Their sound is fuller and hits better when contained indoors vs outside in the open air.
very few things are as cool as the intro to ecdysis. i can only describe it as how it feels to get shit done
Locked Club ruling my brain palace rn. Stef the only guitarist that can write a riff that's literally 2 notes played slowly and I'm like "this is the coolest shit ever thank you sir"
They gotta do another major market North America run. No fair that we didn't get any of the new songs played at MSG last year.
I’m still quite surprised how fresh and impressive PM is as an album this late into the band’s career. I can easily listen all the way through.
Yeah, I have no problem saying it. Private Noise is their best album, especially front to back. It also makes complete sense to me that these guys have produced this level of output at this stage in their career. Also, not sure how many here have heard about Billy Corgan’s recent take on the music industry forgetting about rock music. Essentially, all these new artists/other genres get all the streams, but struggle filling venues, yet rock bands are selling out big arenas no problem. Anyways, I immediately think of Deftones by how massive they are now and all the venues they sell out.
Yeah, I think there's a few bands that are doing really well but not every band is selling out venues. Hardcore has a similar thing going on from what I've noticed.
They gotta TOUR THE STATES AGAIN so I can hear some of these new songs. I don't need to hear "Bored" played live again.
in the outro when that second guitar comes in and plays that extended chord thing underneath the “FEEEELLLLLL ITTTTTTTT” i ascend
