Didn’t see anyone share this but I really enjoyed it. chino talking about Stef making him tear up when he compliments him during the zeb Lowe interview. Plus their apartments when they were first starting, around the fur cover girl, where chino gets all the videos he uses for their video and live show. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podca...m-gladwell-bruce/id1311004083?i=1000730453467

well, thank god Metallica isn't nominated for anything this year so other bands actually have a shot at the rock awards lmao
i'm surprised Ghost didn't rack up more noms. between them and Metallica, it always feels like the rock & metal categories are always monopolized. but i can't complain, love seeing some love for Spiritbox and Turnstile (!!!)
same way other artists get on the list multiple years - release singles in separate nomination periods, add live tracks to the mix, etc.
I'll admit my comment was an exaggeration but I feel like any time I pay attention they're on the nomination list so I don't know
you're good, haha. i don't care for Metallica so i never know when they are and aren't on the list, just assuming they've always got something in the can that could be nominated
I never worked out how they got nominated for the 2025 award for a single that came out in January 2023. Skipped a whole year's eligibility dates.
i see it going to them or Turnstile (maybe HAIM, but idk how much I quit really took off). Linkin Park's record didn't really have much traction outside of its first couple weeks (even if it did decently sales-wise), and i don't know anyone who gives a fuck about YUNGBLUD.
(puts on nerd glasses) For albums, Ghost has only been nominated once in 2019 for Prequelle and Metallica only in 2009, 2018, and 2024 for the albums released in those years. For performances, Ghost has actually only ever been nominated three times, once in 2016 for Cirice (which they won) and then in 2023 and 2024 for Call Me Little Sunshine and Phantom Of The Opera respectively. Metallica has been nominated 9 times, most recently in 2024 and 2025 for 72 Seasons (which they won) and Screaming Suicide. But before that their last nomination was in 2009. Looks like it went for adds at radio in March 2024. That's why. EDIT: Or I guess it's cause of this? From Billboard's site: "Tracks from an album released during last year’s eligibility period are eligible in the current eligibility period, provided the same tracks were not entered the previous year and the album did not win a Grammy." Maybe a little of both.
that's fair, just feels like a constant back and forth with seeing them get nominations/wins the past few years
I'm actually shocked to learn this means Metallica never got nominated for any songs from Hardwired, just the album.
