Good song but unfortunately people saying exactly that before I heard it made it less impactful for me after I listened to it. Again good song and no shade but it’s not as interesting as Sextape and Entombed.

 

Not quite the same thing but I feel like that’s one of those situations where someone tells you “not a spoiler, but man that movie has such a crazy ending!” which I kind of consider a spoiler because now I’m gonna be paying closer attention knowing that something is up with the ending that I’m not expecting and can’t forget I read that so my brain is trying to solve it ahead of time vs being totally surprised because I didn’t know the ending would be crazy

 

Bringing things back to Deftones talk, “Metal Dream” continues to be my favorite chorus on the album (I think)

 

Wanted to share this to know if I'm the only one with this fixation. On "cut hands", something stood out regarding the specific delivery on

Your eye-lids ge-tting hea-vy
You feel-no lon-ger stea-dy
You're ru-nning out-of pe-nnies

From day one, that rhythmic pattern coupled with the soft, whispery singing has been reminding me of Hayley Williams. She may have a very similar delivery on one of her solo songs or a later Paramore one, I haven't checked.
