As a society, we simply need to put less stock into what the bald music man thinks of records we like. That goes ofr Ronald and I*n C***n
My favorite band since I was fourteen is making chart topping albums that I love 25 years later. Reasons to Keep Living.
Occurred to me I haven't really offered any coherent thoughts on this as a whole album. Been away for a week with only the Spotify stream to hand. Will give the physical copy the proper attention when I get home tomorrow.
I was just kinda diggin it at first now I’m actually infatuated. Departing The Body is everything I love about this band. This one and one other on the album have a very specific mood and lyrical call back to This Place is Death
Speaking of “This Place is Death” I’ve long wondered if the title comes from the episode of Lost that has the same time. I briefly skimmed the Wikipedia of Diamond Eyes and found nothing mentioned and that’s been the extent of my research lol and idk of the band has ever been asked that. The lyrics don’t seem to have anything to do with the episode or show so maybe the name is the only similarity. That episode aired in February 2009 and later that year is when DE was recorded so maybe. Kind of neat if that is it since I love Lost. I also went on a bit of a random rabbit hole search for other miscellaneous questions I had. I always thought the thing on the Adrenaline cover was some sort of rattle but turns out to be something used for enemas or injection something into someone Also was curious about the women on the covers of ATF (since Chino has stated that he hates the cover) and SNW (no surprise to learn what that image/woman is from based on the lyrics and ideas of SNW)
I'm almost certain I've read Chino say that it was a Lost reference but I can't be bothered to scour all the Diamond Eyes interviews they would have done in order to find it.
yeah so what other deftones tracks are closest to PM sound? im fresh off a relisten of Gore and White Pony
Very selfish thought this morning, but I hope the reception for this album means we don’t have to wait five more years for the next one.
Off of the self-titled record, Bloody Cape, Minerva, Good Morning Beautiful, Moana, will all give you similar sounds, albeit with a much different mood.
