  1. Guitar riff on the chorus of "Milk of the Madonna" makes me want to run through a wall. I've been mumbling "Holy SPIRIT (spirit...spirit...spirit)" to myself like a crazy person all week

This one is creeping up to the top spot for me on this album. I almost wish it wasn't a single so I could have discovered it during that first listen.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

there's a lot of Pumpkins in Deftones DNA I think

Funny, as soon as the Metal Dream chorus hit I instantly got Machina nostalgia. There've been a lot of what I'd consider pretty obvious SP influences starting with KNY.

The "milk of the madonna" through "~metal dream" stretch is just insane.

Dead poetic got not one but TWO chino collabs for their radio rock album Vices that never went anywhere because the singer decided to quit right after the album was released

it's kinda wild how Deftones and Smashing Pumpkins have never collaborated nor went on tour together

Yeah, that story is wild because they almost broke up after new medicines and then they rebuilt the band when the singer decided he wanted to do it again. Recorded a radio rock album, got Chino, big 2006 type rock video, got them tours lined up with papa roach and incubus. Then at the last minute, the singer just is like “nah, im good” and it was over. T&N sunk a lot into that record lol
