There are a few B-Sides from the albums you've already covered that you'd probably love Around the Fur - Crenshaw Punch White Pony - The Boy's Republic S/T - Lovers
Once this releases I can make a 10 track album from just their closers. I have a feeling I will be listening to that a lot.
My new autism (recently diagnosed) game is to make a tracklist for artists using only one track one, one track two, etc. until I reach a natural closer. This is what I came up with picking my favorite Deftones tracks in sequence: 1. Hole in the Earth 2. Digital Bath 3. Minerva 4. You've Seen the Butcher 5. The Spell of Mathematics 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Rocket Skates 8. Sextape 9. Bloody Cape 10. Ohms
cool idea let me give it a whirl… 1. Hexagram 2. Needles and Pins 3. Minerva 4. Good Morning Beautiful 5. … you know what? nevermind
Moana is the closer I've listened to the most. I used to fall asleep to it in high school blasting way too loud in my headphones from my Sony Walkman. I did that with MX too, but only once.
I got to track 3, found myself having to choose between Minerva, Beware, Leathers, and CMND/CTRL and my brain fused from the strain.
Chi 1. MoS 2. Lhabia 3. Minerva 4. Cherry Waves 5. RX Queen 6. BQAD 7. Battle Axe 8. Birthmark 9. Bloody Cape 10. Change 11. Moana I don't know man, this could be different tomorrow.
also chino in the verses of that song sounds like the dad from a christmas story when he's fixing the furnace
On the studio collection in Apple music version there is an additional "look at how it feels" after the second chorus and I love it. They updated the album version with it too.
my favorite little detail in Lhabia is how Chino holds out “crook” underneath the “look at what it’s doing to you” part, I thought for a long time he was just doing “oooh”s underneath, but you can actually hear him hit the “k” at the end.
I'm gonna be the one to say s/t is still one of my least favorites from them but that's more that I just think the rest of their stuff is stronger
