Lance Jackman from Will Haven. and Shaun Lopez from Far/Crosses too apparently but it was just Lance a couple weeks ago at Metro
System and Deftones concert was fantastic. Chino sounded great last night. Was a bit worried at first since he sounded very off at Coachella.
Ok shows whatever whatever...where's the new album and how has it been four years since I started this thread?
Been a heck of a long time waiting, but atleast we got an epic Crosses album last year. Still in my rotation.
I think there's still a chance we get first single ~Oct and album release ~Jan, but I think most likely we get first single ~Jan and album release ~April.
Was thinking yesterday about what ever happened with Loathe. I remember them saying they played a new song for their friends in another band and that band said it was nice for a demo, but it wasn’t actually a demo so they scrapped everything they were working on and started over. I’m guessing that song was Dimorphous Display
They can take as long as they like. There are a handful of great songs scattered across the last two albums (mostly on Gore) but I'd like to see them shake it up a little more.
i'll occasionally see someone claim they're close with the band and that they're taking their time to make it the best it can be, but that what they've heard is nothing shy of amazing. gives strong "my dad works for Nintendo" vibes, but hey, if true i won't be upset.
id prefer a loathe album to a deftones album at this point ngl thornhill tho imo were better when they were aping karnivool on their debut
side note: if anyone ever gets the chance to see Thornhill live, definitely jump on that. they're fantastic in a live setting.
I probably would too, because I expect a new Deftones album to be solid, but a Loathe album hitting their true potential is easily AOTY material.
