Stef as an individual idiot hadn’t completely deterred me from the band, but the Sergio situation still doesn’t really sit right with me. After a decade of adoring the line-up as is and viewing him as a real, important and contributing member, it’s a bad taste to be left with.
Yeah I didn't consider that. I saw footage of a show they just played without Stef and, while Lance is replacing him, there's also another guitarist on stage now.
Still on the high from last night's gig in London. Smallest venue I've seen them in – essentially a one-off opportunity to see them at a hot, sweaty club gig (and boy was it hot); it really is and always will be the best environment to see them in. Such a special atmosphere. Sextape and Rosemary were absolutely transcendent, the former especially. Genesis is the song on Ohms I have a tendency to skip but it was colossal as a gig opener. I could pick little holes if I wanted to but nah...a heavy band going for this long and still creating such a visceral experience, a gig to remember for years to come, is just something to love and be grateful for. Seen a few elder statesman bands the last month (them, Glassjaw and Tool) and all were really good but that was comfortably the best.
Remember Palms? I was thinking about revisiting it some time soon. Just a shame that a side project of Deftones/ISIS didn’t really grab me
gotta be honest, the stef stuff and more so the sergio stuff doesn't have me as excited for the band as i used to be
Honestly any more music they crank out is icing on the cake, Ohms was way better than anyone could’ve asked for this far into their career.
