Found this review amusing (I admit I haven't listened to the full album): VoS | Astodan - Évora Apparently the Deftones have "become a bit stagnating and irrelevant for maybe a decade" and "If the Deftones had been listening to the releases by dunk!records and Consouling Sounds, their music would very likely hold more appeal and relevance". Wow.
I guess plenty don't like Gore and there are probably people around who don't like Ohms but it's a weird band to use.
Finally saw them for the first time and it blew my extremely high expectations away. Just unbelievable stuff. The light show in particular was one for the ages. What a sick atmosphere.
In a lot of pain that I can't make the London date they just announced for next month. Fingers crossed they tour properly over here soon.
^ Got tickets for that in presale this morning. Great replacement for the cancelled Faith No More gig I was meant to be going to that night. And I'm seeing Nine Inch Nails a few days after...very nice week.
First time I saw them was 10-11 years ago at a club in Knoxville. I’ve been trying to reach that same high ever since. Though I have seen them twice since then, nothing beats the atmosphere of a smaller venue with Deftones on stage.
I'm really happy I finally got to see them live on this tour, but I swear this band is making it harder for me to continue supporting them. Between the Sergio drama and Stef's bullshit, it's hard to justify being an active fan at the moment.
