yea even if we're only looking at Deftones discography, the Gore rollout was like 2 months or so right
OCD and/or/aka that mentality. I get it though. At least for me, I stopped doing that; waiting. Just to hear the album, "pure" or with virgin ears, or whatever the fuck. I stopped giving a shit and I feel better because of it. Now, wearing it out is a bit different. I've listened maybe 5 times by my iTunes record keeping. I'll prob give it a go a couple more times but that will be it. Its tough to stop because the song is that infectious.
like I said, I have records lined up that I've been wanting to listen to that I haven't gotten to yet. I'll hear the song, and the rest of the album in 10 days. yes, I'm anticipating it, but I was a little hyperbolic when I said "i'm dying" - I'll be fine.
While I do wish I had this record to listen to for this drive, I’m on my way to Denver from Upstate NY and have been nonstop listening to Deftones because this Highlander I rented has a great sound system for their type of music. Getting me super pumped for the release.
I'm getting my first car at the end of the month, I expect Ohms and whatever releases that same day (The Ocean, and Svalbard) to be my first driving soundtrack ever then.
The way this song just explodes. Big fan of them doing album openers as a statement and glad we're back to that. Prayers/Triangles is a pretty good song but doesn't kick the door down like this does.
I'll be honest I wasn't too stoked on the first listen, but after a couple more it's really growing on me.
wow this fucking rips. you can absolutely tell they’re fully engaged in a way they haven’t been in a while imo.
Not as immediate as "Ohms," but that riff goes. Reminds me of Saturday Night Wrist. Doesn't exactly feel like an opener to me, but I'm sure I'll love it in a few days lol
and produced by the dude they should’ve stuck w all along funny this one felt more immediately my lane/the lane I like them to be in. also lmao I listened to OHMS not knowing it was the closer and this one not knowing it was the opener and if you had told me to pick which was which I probably would have guessed the opposites
