I never thought about their career this way, but you make a good point. Major/Minor, and especially TBEITBN, definitely have the appeal for a more mainstream foothold. And yea, "Artist in the Ambulance" would have been the best choice for that album cycle. I think "All That's Left" was a great choice, but I think "Stare at the Sun" went over a lot of heads. Funny story on that. I played it for a friend back in high school and made a comment about the bass line. He responded with something like "what part is the bass?" I think that song just missed the mark of what many people tend to pay attention to.
