A detective falls for a mysterious widow after she becomes the prime suspect in his latest murder investigation.
In theaters Oct. 14, can’t wait https://thefilmstage.com/park-chan-...er-release-new-international-trailer-arrives/
I generally enjoyed this but it's not even close to Handmaiden for me. The directing was on point but some parts were a little confusing and I don't think it paid off in the way that most Park movies do. And that's coming from like the biggest fan ever lol
This was great. The transition from the first case to the second was kind of messy and a little unclear, but it eventually became clear what was going on. I think my biggest criticism would be Seo-rae's motivation to commit suicide didn't feel fully fleshed out. The idea of her wanting to be a forever unsolved case that he would obsess over is so chilling and overall effective, but I don't think the movie fully convinced me why she would do that. Still, overall I really enjoyed this. The chemistry between Tang Wei and Park Hae-il was wonderful and the way the cases come together is pretty satisfying. I'm the odd man out who wasn't super big on Oldboy, but I highly recommend this.
Really wanted (and expected) to like this more than I did. The two leads are great, the ending rules but it never really got it's teeth into me. Some of the effects are fucking hideous too. Really hate the drone stuff and weird morph transitions, made it look ugly and cheap.
