Didn't have much time to play today, only got to the beginning of episode 1, but the prologue already was great, and I had maybe like 15-20 minutes of gameplay lol. I'm already in love with the visuals even though I have no idea what the fuck is going on
Oh I don't mind cutscenes at all, especially when they're trippy af like this The MGS series is one of my favorites for a reason lol
only played the prologue as it was 2 am last night. some fucking wild shit. the visuals are what’s keeping me going haha. the image of the five bodies floating on the horizon was so haunting
That music that comes on when you're near is crazy. The first time I heard BB through my Dualshock was eerie.
The more you play it's like yep this is definitely a Kojima joint. All the quirks and auteur sensibilities are there. He still wanted to make a movie game, only instead of taking inspiration from campy spy and 80's action film genres, the goal for Death Stranding seems to be tapping into some zeitgeist. At times it reminds you of a sci-fi film in the wheelhouse of Alex Garland or Denis Villeneuve or something. Dude has grown tons as an artist, assuming he wasn't holding back all this time.
I still haven't listened to that CHVRCHES song because I want to experience it in game (assuming it does of course) and it's starting to drive me nuts.
