This song is so great.

 

I thought it was corny. Would've enjoyed piecing the lyrics together on my own without pictures of the Donald the entire video, kinda beats it over the head.

Listened to Transatlanticism about 5 times this week after a rec. Not sure what to listen to next.

 

well. you could go in a few different directions. my favorite album by them is narrow stairs but since you started with trans i'd just continue onto plans and then narrow stairs. after that go back to their earlier work (the photo album and we have the facts). as far as their new stuff, codes is trash and kintsugi is half trash half pretty good.

I love every Death Cab album. Codes is the worst, but it's still an 8 in my eyes. haha

 

Codes is an awesome album and if any other random band wrote it then people would worship it

 

I feel like this argument holds no merit. It's just a really boring album

 

Yeah, I always think when people say that it makes no sense. I think Codes is super average, I don't hate it but if it was put out by a band I didn't love I'd never think about it again. I think Kintsugi is great though although still far from their best.

 

This isn't true at all, it's just a bad album. I only like about 3 songs on it

 

Codes would've been a really awesome EP. There's some real boring songs on there and some of Gibbard's worst lyrics

Spinning Transatlanticism a couple more times before Boston gets warm again.

 

According to Dave Depper's (1/2 of Walla's replacements) instagram, death cab has entered the studio!

 

I'm excited. Hopefully they can make more songs as good as the best on Kintsugi.

 

I went to their Anaheim show Sunday and Ben said something about the record being written and they're gonna go straight to the studio after the show and record it. Based on their fb/insta pics this week looks like he wasn't exaggerating.

For some reason I've been listening to Narrow Stairs this week, and I'm realizing I've been severely under rating it. Cath might be one of the best DC songs.

 

I like Cath a lot. The.... Circular? Nature of it appeals to me. I'm not sure if I can explain what I mean by that
