I love Kintsugi. Other than Everything's a Ceiling (I always skip this one), it's a great album from start to finish.

 

That's my second favourite, ha. I love it so much.

I used to say Codes & Keys is their best, but I was always joking over at AP about that.

 

Trans, Photo, and Narrow are incredible albums. Plans, Kintsugi, and Facts are just solid. C&K isnt really THAT bad but i rarely listen to it compared to the others.

 

Maaate, Plans and Facts are so special. I like those two more than Narrow Stairs or Photo Album.

 

In think Trans, Facts, and Photo are their best works. They also happen to be my favorites.

Jakob, ily but i disagree. Plans and Facts would be like an 8 for me, NS feels like the closest theyve come to recreating the Trans magic, and Photo album is as good as those.

 

Why do you feel that way in regards to Narrow Stairs? I love that album but I feel like it's in a very different way than I love Trans. Plans had always felt like the closest thing to Trans for me and it has three of my favourite songs of theirs in a row at the end, I'd easily give that a 9. Facts is just a beatifully sad album with an incredible atmosphere, I'd probably give that a 9 too. Narrow Stairs would get an 8 from me and I'd probably give Photo Album a 7. Transatlanticism is an easy perfect 10.

 

Trans has always felt like an album with a very dark undercurrent to it, and I feel like NS captures that feeling again perfectly. Plus I just really like a lot of the songs on there, such as "I Will Possess Your Heart" and "The Ice Is Getting Thinner". Photo also kind of has that feeling too, plus Photo has "Styrofoam Plates" which might be my favorite DC song.

 

I think most Death Cab has that dark undercurrent though. I feel like that was their thing until Codes. "Styrofoam" is probably my favorite on Photo too but it probably wouldn't crack my top 15 Death Cab songs.

 

oh yeah for sure, theres just something about NS that gives me Trans vibes. it probably has a lot to do with the fact that NS was the second album I listened to after Trans

 

That could be it since I'm the same way with Plans, haha.

No love for You Can Play These Songs with Chords?! I prefer those versions to the ones on Airplanes. Also "State Street Residential" and "Wait" are killer tracks.

That would be a bad opinion but there could be much worse. Facts is amazing.

 

The atmosphere that they create on Facts is really, really cool. There are few records like it.
