I wish the world was flat like the old days Then I could travel just by folding a map No more airplanes, or speed trains, or freeways There'd be no distance that can hold us back
This guy dissects songs and how they’re recorded. He gets stems of songs and does nightly shows. Tonight he’s tacking Death Cab. People in the Jimmy Eat World thread may be familiar with how these go.
Recently acquired the 180g reissue of Transatlanticism and threw it on my new setup tonight. Don't think I'd listened to that record front to back in a few years and fuck I forgot how much it rocks out on most songs. Sounds like a dorky thing to say about a DCFC record haha but the guitars are just huge-sounding
I get what you're saying but Photo Album doesn't sound quite as massive as Transatlanticism. Not a knock at all as it's a top 2 or 3 DCFC record for me, just a different sound
I def agree Photo Album doesn’t sound as big but I was really only trying to speak on the “rocking out” as a general thing. there are definitely more upbeat and rocky moments on Photo Album imo. I think the vibe of it is more organic/“band-in-a-room” feeling than Transatlanticism but Transatlanticism def sounds like a more polished and refined work and that for sure lends to it sounding more massive. they’re neck and neck for me as far as faves go, can’t really ever decide between ‘em.
