Narrow Stairs is a weird one because I'm not sure if I dislike a single song on the album, but for some reason, the pieces just never quite click for me. Actually, come to think about it, I feel somewhat similarly about The Photo Album. Both good records, just not ones that clicked with me the way they seem to with other people. But I have a really strong emotional connection to their first two albums fwiw

 

Photo Album might have my favorite of Ben’s lyrics. Also love me some darker Death Cab.

 

I’m so glad someone else agrees with me about TPA and the first two

 

Monday Morning is a hugely under rated song from C&K imo.

 

I listened to their whole discography today at work, so I'm just gonna do it.

I love everything from TPA and above. C&K and SAA are good. Kitsugi is mediocre.

 

Something About Airplanes is special. So cool to hear where this band came from.

 

I should go back to that one after having a Renaissance with their early stuff

I totally get this for both Narrow Stairs and The Photo Album. I like both and think there's some really good songs and cool stuff going on, but I don't connect to them like I do Trans or Facts. They don't gey that kind of response out of me

 

SAA is an album I need to speed more time with. I've only heard it a handful of times

 

Photobooth is one of their best songs

 

This has really grown on me. It's fairly simplistic but I like the feel and lyrical content.

 

Didn't love the song right away either, but after a few listens now I cant get it out of my head (in a good way)

 

The more time I spend with it, the more I love it. A lot of gems between that and Chords

 

I used to love Narrow stairs, but the length of “I Will Possess Your Heart” as well as “Talking Bird” and “You Can Do Better Than Me” in general take it down a notch for me.

Imo, it could have used the songs from The Open Door EP.

That one sounds way better than Gold Rush.

Kintsugi might honestly be my favorite record of theirs. Transatlanticism and Plans are obviously classics but I really love the songs on Kintsugi.

Death Cab’s discography is solid, if you ask me.

 

Kintsugi is excellent and I’ve always loved how Chris sings harmony on the last few lines of Binary Sea.

 

I like Gold Rush. The production grooves. I'm really looking forward to the album.

 

Narrow Stairs was the last Death Cab album I really loved, but even after initial disappointments in Codes & Keys and Kintsugi, they both grew on me a lot. I put Stay Young Go Dancing, St. Peter's Cathedral, Ghosts of Beverly Drive, and a few other cuts from both those albums as top quality Death Cab tracks. I love this band a ton.

 

I listened to their last 2 albums yesterday for the first time in years and I actually enjoyed the hell out of them. It really surprised me.

 

I haven't listened to their entire discography in way too long

Saw the setlist picture they posted on Instagram and damn... I really regret not seeing them two years ago. Hopefully they're here again soon

 

Damn the setlist in Holland was soooooo good. Pumped for Tuesday night!
