Didn’t know he literally meant all of the songs from Facts, haha. That was very cool.

Missed this because of work, has he been uploading the weekly shows to YouTube like he was doing with the daily ones?

Also no one is talking about the new song he played on the stream on Thursday? It's good!

Not having almost anything from the last few albums on there means that bracket sucks. Gotta have at least one song from each album.

I'm listening to The Photo Album for the first time. This might be what actually gets me into the band.

  11. the first time!!! that's awesome.

"Coney Island" is one of my lowkey favorites

Looking at the tracklist, I actually don't know if I've listened to Transatlanticism in full either.

  13. I remember I really started to love Death Cab during my freshman year in high school and I remember listening to Photo Album I think for the first time during Biology class (lol) and being so enamored with it. I remember listening to Facts on the bus home and Airplanes under my blankets after swim practice. such a magical run of albums that felt special to me right away but unfolded for me slowly

I stumbled upon Death Cab in an odd way. In high school I would always check the calendars for my favorite music venues on a daily basis. One day I was checking Irving Plaza's calendar and saw "Death Cab For Cutie." At the time I was really into heavy music, and just assumed they were a hard rock band based off the name. They were touring The Photo Album at the time. Gave it a listen, and have been obsessed ever since.

I don’t think I got into the Photo Album or Facts until last year despite being a fan of Trans/Plans for years and years.

  16. Lol a bandmate from my first band had CD copies of Something About Airplanes and Plans laying around because his brother bought them. He wasn't into them. I borrow.edthem and just remember playing them on repeat, particularly Airplanes, which got me going on their old stuff and eventually through the full catalog. I must have been in 7th or 8th grade.

I didn’t get into Death Cab until the fall of 2010, which is when I started getting more into indie/alt rock bands of Death Cab’s ilk. A friend of mine at the time gave me Transatlanticism, Plans, and Narrow Stairs. I fell in love with Trans immediately. That album has remained one of my top ten favorite albums ever since. Always gets me feeling a special sort of way. I love it.

At this point, I only ever really listen to their music from We Have The Facts to Plans. Don’t care much for anything after Plans. Narrows Stairs is okay, but I’ve definitely been pretty much out on everything since then.

I got into them when I was like 14 when Plans came out and went backwards from there. Photo Album, Transatlanticism, and the Postal Service were so huge for me.

My friend showed me You Are A Tourist when I was 14, and then I saw them at some radio show later that same year. Wish I knew them better at the time since they played We Looked Like Giants

People in here sleeping on Photo Album should probably not do that. I had a weird trajectory with this band that went: listening to them for the first time in 2008 with Narrow Stairs and feeling unimpressed, going back to Photo Album and loving it, and then Transatlanticism sealed the deal. Photo Album sold me on them and I might not have given them another shot otherwise.

And for what it's worth it turned out Narrow Stairs was a serious grower.

Photo Album is my favourite when I want to listen to Death Cab but can't deal with Tiny Vessels through Passenger Seat, that stretch is SO MUCH.
