This is unfair because this band has produced albums of pure perfection and each individual song doesn't have the same effect when listened to on its own. But here's my attempt of 10 songs

I love how everyone has such different lists. Says a lot about the bands catalog.

this has grown on me a lot. I still can't get through "gold rush." the repeating of the title ruins it so much for me.

If you're concentrating on the "Gold Rush" chant you're not paying enough attention to the rest of the song.

Be like only listening to the bass.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Or it's just super irritating and distracting and detracts from the song in a major way

Same. I like the album far more than I expected to but I almost always skip Gold Rush.

Always do the right thing. Supporter

So many songs use vocals or vocal samples or something as percussion or repeated refrains, I guess I understand not being into that conceptually but I don’t see it as any more out of place or grating on Gold Rush than any other song using a similar technique.

Then again I’ve come to genuinely enjoy Gold Rush as a song and I don’t know if that’s much of a consensus here so maybe it’s just me.

Which is totally fine. There's something about this one that bugs me as opposed to other songs that use those things.

To say that I'm not paying enough attention to the rest of the song enough is laughable though.

right, its just repetitive and annoying to me. i don't know why, it just is. its really the only song i skip at this point.

Or more like listening to a song with a shitty bass part repeated over and over and thus ruining the song?

When they played Gold Rush live I definitely got annoyed with the repeated "Gold Rush" and slide guitar part, but I think on the recording it's mixed in very well and doesn't bother me at all

If your advice to someone who doesn’t like a song is to listen to one element and ignore everything else, it’s prob not the greatest song

I don’t mind the repeated “Gold Rush” but the slide guitar does get on my nerves sometimes. All in all I do like the song.

Had to give it some thought but basically this combo is one of my favorite things in all of recorded music.

Also, just came across the Pitchfork review for Plans where they gave it a 6.5 lol
