yeah it doesn't really read like a song that's about anybody in particular to me

 

On that podcast it's clear that it's about someone specific but I don't think it's an either/or situation, Gibbard is very good at positioning himself in the subjects he sings about, even when it's not first person.

Honestly I love too many to narrow down a list too much, but I think Passenger Seat has always been a clear favorite of mine.

What Sarah Said is so damn good. I love the instrumental break, followed by the whos gonna watch you die lines.

Brothers on a Hotel Bed and We Looked Like Giants are two of my favorites

 

Thought the pitchfork review hit the nail on the head and made its position very clear. It’s the best death cab album since narrow stairs but still has a lot of the same shortcomings their 2010s work has. But there are clear stand outs and that’s awesome. 6.0 is a decent score.

This album is still growing on me after a week of listening. Definitely deserves more then a 6 on pitchfork (They gave Animal Collective’s Tangerine Reef a 6.9, I mean c’mon)

I totally see Autumn Love, Summer Years, and Northen Lights making their way on the list of DCFC all time favorites.

 

One of those songs that never fails to elicit a serious emotional reaction from me.
