Not a bad record. Good for a summer drive. There’s some cool songs on here (yes summer years being one of them)

this is fine. a couple of the songs are really good, northern lights probably the best of the bunch, and a few are pretty bad. i doubt i’ll go back to it a ton but it’s better than the last two by a good amount imo

Favorite Songs so far: Summer Years (possibly their best song), Northern Lights and Near/Far.

Don’t really get the hate for Gold Rush. Really loving that song. Summer Years is unbelievable though.

Gave it a spin this morning on my way down the shore. As mentioned, I was really surprised how good Summer Years was. Definitely like it more than Kintsugi but will need another listen or 2 to see how I really feel about it.

Side note: I think Plans is extremely overrated minus 2 songs. Honestly might like Codes and Keys more than it as a whole

it's super fucking boring, not about it at ALL.

I'm super into it. Every song is pleasant, has lyrics I enjoy, and sounds like Death Cab. At this point for this band, that's enough for me even if, like everything they've done since the Open Door EP, little of it comes close to their highest highs.

I love this album way more than I thought I would. Gives me a strange feeling of comfort and melancholy.

This. It’s simple enough to be comforting, but layered enough to be interesting. Not boring to me at all. Just more relaxed. I personally have needed an album like this.

After a few listens I think kintsugi had higher highs but this ones more consistent. Down side is there’s some weak and lazy lyricism, and definitely trying too hard to rhyme in some places, but overall a really enjoyable listen. Favorites are Dreamt, Summer, and Northern Lights.

This album doesn't blow me away or anything but at this point that doesn't surprise me. It's been clear for awhile now that Death Cab are well past their peak. Having said that, I do actually enjoy this album. It's nice.

Listening to Something About Airplanes for the first time. I've been listening to Death Cab since their OC days but I never got around to listening to their pre-Transatlanticism albums. The muddy vocals are some getting used to but I finished it and I like it, already pressing repeat. I'd say "Fake Frowns' is my favorite on here for now.

I don't know, the album is ok but nothing special for me. Just as their last two records, it's better than Kintsugi
    though.
I Dreamt We Spoke Again, Northern Lights and 60 & Punk are my favorites.

That baseline in Summer Years is something straight out of Plans.
Crazy how listening to a new song in 2018 can evoke so many memories of 2005.

Album hasn’t quite clicked for me yet though I am enjoying it a bit more than Kintsugi, not quite as much as Codes and Keys. I def agree that Summer Years is straight out of Plans.
