Haven’t listened yet but I’m excited to. I enjoy all their albums. Even the ones I think are mediocre.

The closer really is fantastic. There are a few songs on here that really remind me of listening to this band back in the 2000s.

  4. reminds me a lot of Photo Album specifically

Gold Rush is fantastic and y'all mad for thinking otherwise.

Enjoyed this for the most part on first listen. I'm feeling about the same way I did listening to Kintsugi for the first time, except my least favorite track here so far (Gold Rush), isn't nearly as bad as the low point on Kintsugi (Hold No Guns). Only two or three songs really stood out as potential favorites, but I think there are at least a few more that will grow on me. Overall I'm pleasantly surprised.

I wish I loved the rest of this album as much as I love Summer Years

It would be so so so much better if not for the grating, corny and stupid chant of “gold Rush” every 5 seconds.

I’m quite shocked at how much I like this, and it’s been a really long time since I liked a Death Cab record.

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

First listen take aways: this sounds like a very modern Death Cab record. It takes a groovier, more layered approach than maybe any of their other releases ever have. Tracks that jumped out the most were Summer Years, Your Hurricane, 60 and Punk.

I actually really like that, it's just another part of the instrumentation to me.

I never would've noticed Lauren Mayberry on "Northern Lights" without it being pointed out

It's one of the best songs on here though. "Shared a clove cigarette on the parapet / as the TVs glowed from the windows of the model homes"

I'm loving this record so much. Clicking with me so much quicker than Codes and Kintsugi did.

I really loved this. Summer Years was amazing, and I thought the whole thing was really enjoyable. I'm excited to listen to it more, I think it's going to stay in my rotation a while.

have you heard their Tiny Desk? Black Sun into No Room In Frame changed my opinion on both of those songs. Once they are stripped down, they are excellent. Please check it out

No Room In Frame is one of their best songs post Plans. Easily.

  21. I would say it is absolutely the best song since Narrow Stairs. one of my favorites of theirs for sure.

I have, it’s a great performance and I like that version better than the record version, but I still just haven’t really ever gotten into that song. I’ve only revisited Kintsugi as a whole like three or four times, though, exceptions for Ghosts of Beverly Drive and No Room in Frame, which I’ve thrown on a few playlists.
