I don’t know why but I love the “lonely fish in a sea full of squid” line on Your Hurricane. This album gets better with each listen.

The call-response between the piano and guitar on Northern Lights is sublime

I'd be lying if I said some of these lyrics weren't giving me the feels.

What happened to Ben that he can all of a sudden write an album's worth of great material again?

he’ll live forever in the sound of broken glass

I’d Need a breakdown of what exactly Chris contributed and what he didn’t, but my perception is that he wasn’t as necessary to their best material as a lot of us thought. They have a killer rhythm section, Ben has a good ear for melody and can write good lyrics when he wants to, and the production on this is, imo, better than anything they’ve done since Trans.

Yeah, he probably wasn't, but maybe it's good he left the band because he produced what will be one of the years best albums and Dcfc became good again

This album was pretty forgettable. So many new artists are more exciting than Death Cab in 2018, but I understand that longtime fans will still enjoy this.

This album rules, I seriously love it. I hear something new each time I listen. And for anyone wondering about Chris I highly recommend his most recent record, Tape Loops.

On first listen I like it better than Kintsugi, I’m a DCFC + riffs guy

My early impression is that Kintsugi is better than this, but I like this a lot more than Codes & Keys.

Gold Rush grew on me a bit. I think the reason I didn’t like it initially was because I first heard it with the music video, which really doesn’t do the song any favors.

hearing Sound of Settling in the set after passively watching the first few songs is soo weird
