Listening to Kintsugi right now and "Black Sun" is fucking awesome

edit: really enjoying this whole thing so far

 

The middle tracks of the album are boring (tracks 5, 6,7, and 11 are not for me), but the laft half picks back up.

No Room in Frame,Ghosts of Beverly ,and Good Help are fantastic songs!

 

Having the two slowest songs one after another in tracks 5 and 6 was probably a big misstep and really breaks the flow of the album.

Also, ever since i saw this little video with Ben I really enjoy listening to my Death Cab playlist during my mountain runs haha. Such a cool interview/mini-doc thing.

I think Codes and Keys is underrated but Kintsugi is overrated. Did not like that record at all, other then the first four songs.

my biggest issue with Codes and Keys is that waaaaaaay too many songs have vocal effects where I just wish it was clean vocals

 

I completely agree, rather than used sparingly for effect the bulk of the lead vocals are so heavily processed with filters and additional effects that in my opinion detracts from the songs. Ben's voice is one of my favourite things about Death Cab.

 

You've Haunted Me is probably my least favorite, but the way it was incorporated in the video helped breathe some life into it. That was cool

Yeah I wish they'd do without the vocal effect, but I'm still really digging this. Got a great groove to it.

I like this new song. I get the vocal effect criticism though. His phone is so unique that it shouldn’t be covered up.
