I feel like they almost always fuck with people on the first single. I remember HATING Gold Rush and then in context in became one of my favorites on TYFT. Releasing a 8 minute and 30 second song as the single for Narrow Stairs was also ballsy. Seems like this song is not the typical pick for a radio hit, but maybe that's why they did it. Who knows. They are my favorite band and they've never released a bad album even if I have ones that are lower on the rankings.

Yeah I’m not 100% sold on the new song but I am still very excited for this album. I lovedAsphalt Meadows and thought it was their best in years. So I think this new one will be great
Great news and cool timing since I put on Asphalt Meadows for the first time in awhile yesterday out of the blue. Love that LP.

Relistened to Something About Airplanes last night to reaffirm my love for it. It’s a genuinely excellent album, massively underappreciated. The last few songs are up there with the best of We Have The Facts. Recommend everyone listen to it again with an open mind.
Cannot possibly read all of these rankings but I know "Gold Rush" is far from the worst Death Cab song when the second half of Kintsugi exists. Codes and Keys stays underrated.
It will always be one of my favorites. "Sleep Spent" is up there for me. Also this live-in-studio version of "Your Bruise":

Narrow Stairs has finally been hitting like crazy for me recently while The Photo Album is always in flux. Admittedly need to revisit Asphalt Meadows because I liked it quite a bit upon release, but have hardly returned to it at all.

First half of Codes and Keys is genuinely very good ("Home is a Fire," "Some Boys," "Unobstructed Views" in particular) plus "Underneath the Sycamore" and "Stay Young, Go Dancing." It's mostly "Portable Television" that drags that one down for me.

"I am trying to be hyped for you" being the chorus refrain pretty much singlehandedly crashes it into a wall for me.
Doors Unlocked and Open is probably my least favourite. I've never really liked it and it's way too long.
