My problem with Riptides is they recreated the damn Home Depot song

The Home Depot song doesn’t have a weird little
monster skittering and purring under the bass line.

When I worked at Home Depot they played soul meets body all the time.

Soul Meets Body was my dorm mate’s ringtone in college. Damn near ruined the tune.

Maybe the association is why the label chose it for a single

The Venn Diagram of guys who hang out at Home Depot to avoid spending time with their spouses and children and the guys who hang out in their spare bedroom listening to vinyl records to avoid spending time with their spouses and children.

i forgot how much i like these guys lol onto plans of my discog binge and having a great time. as much as i love we have the facts i am generally of the mind that their best stuff came when they made the jump towards bigger sounds. transatlanticism opened that door perfectly but even now i still think i like plans as much as it

I love the mixing of this record. Everything sounds extremely crisp. Ben sounds amazing.

Definitely going to grow on me I feel, but I really like Pep Talk, How Heavenly A State, and Trap Door.

got to the three 2010s albums before going to sleep so ima hit the last two today and maybe pick this up from the store

definitely do not love codes / kintsugi / today as full albums but the first like four or five ish songs on kintsugi are def more solid than i remembered. no room in frame is really great

was unaware of the blue ep it will be jammed

Kintsugi has black sun and Beverly drive and those are both top tier.

  19. this is my experience too. Always enjoyed that album but at a distance, it never really fully clicked with me until this year. Now it's probably my fifth favorite.

    Well, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy

Beverly Drive was a strong single. I got sick of it after a while since my hometown’s alt rock station played it to death, but it’s a great song

No Room In Frame, Black Sun, Bev Drive is such an incredible 3 song run to start an album

I've never been a big Kintsugi fan but I'm digging into the discography a ton and it just hit me harder on this last listen. The songs themselves don't immediately stand out, but the guitars really sound immaculate.

  24. you've haunted me all my life is a song I love on kintsugi

no room in frame is one of their best songs. those verses are always on the tip of my tongue
