4 month long album rollout with no option available yet to purchase physical media feels strange. I get the circumstances are out of their control. Just saying it feels prolonged & stilted.
If the album has this sound and this is just an intro or the shortest track I could see this being good, lyrics kind of weak for Bens standards, the tones here are the strong point but I need to hear some more interesting things going on in the rest of the tracks, those are my thoughts on listen one
I have a feeling this may have been the album they made after Codes and Keys if it didnt get such a lukewarm/lackluster reception. Im here for it. Thought they've been doing a middle ground of what they were and what they wanted to be with the last two albums
he mentioned he took lyrics from unused songs for this one and that pretty much never works so it only makes sense this one is weak.
I… kind of love it? It doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it’s honestly one of my favorite songs they’ve put out in quite a long time
Second listen after emotional pain and yeah I love this now lol, the ending sounds like it’s building towards leading into a massive song, im just gonna pretend it’ll end up being a Transatlanticism title track type song
It’s like, first listen “ok it’s Ben sounding like Ben and it’s not standing out” but the instrumental just builds in a really satisfying way and I’m a big fan of the production here too
I really enjoy it, but also can't find any good reasons for the quieter repeats of some of the first lines in an echo mode - maybe somebody here in the thread subconsciously prepared me to dislake it hahh.
Yeah, that part feels a little awkward, like they were trying to fill empty space, after that it picks up nicely though imo
yes, well, but they could've skipped the first one at the very least, no need to hear "sugar in my coffee" echoed haha ;D
