I didn't bother with the original date, figured it was mostly sold out at this point. Surprisingly happy with what it just threw at me for six people, too.

So happy he was able to get in it.

I ran with him during a 100k a while back. Didn’t talk about music at all other than me telling him I knew who he was. We only talked running for like 3 miles together. Solid guy.

I watched a clip the other day of him finishing and crossing the finish line and it was really cool to see!

Y'all endurance runners are crazy but I support you. I can't run anymore because of past injuries.

  13. uhhhhh yeah that's also why I don't run "anymore"

lol I used to do it regularly. Low impact workouts for me now - long walks and bike rides.

  15. My dad was a runner back in high school and college and he's had like 2 knee replacement surgeries on both knees. So I just walk... or drive, haha.

Not saying it's a good or bad thing. Just speaking my truth

Nah I ran cross country in high school and was all conference but I can't do more than 3.1 miles that's plenty

I love a nice slow jog. I wish I liked running. It's so awful. I can barely tolerate a 5k so 100k is just bananas to me

he doesn’t listen to tunes? Interesting. That’s the only thing that makes running tolerable for me.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

He did mention in an interview after that he did listen to Teenage Fanclub through some stretches.

I'm sure he does, but It's a long day out there. Theres always someone to talk to in these races too. It also depends on the race. My first ultra...no headphones allowed for safety reasons. There were multiple mountain lion sightings on the course.

Personally, I train with music, but on race days...I mostly don't listen to music. The ultra community is a cool thing though. You'd be surprised how many people don't run them with music and converse with others along the way.

I've completed 3 100 mile trail races. 1 without music. 2 with in some capacity. Just depends. Training is usually a podcast for me. Again, depends. I'm good with or without.

I've got 3 tickets into the race Ben finished. Western States. Its a lotto system for the vast majority of folks that get in. There are around 360 spots each year out of the around 10,000 that apply who have completed qualifying events under certain time goals. I haven't been picked yet but I'll keep applying until luck shines upon me. I don't have a qualifying event lined up for me this year as of yet, and I don't think the calendar and my race goals align for that this year. But I still have my 3 tickets.

I think I'll go listen to their best song Cath... now

Bro where did you go on Strava??? I oddly remember you smoking a 50 miler and then just.... disappearing!
