I revisited the blue ep recently and liked it much more than I remembered, but kids in 99 sounds like if someone was writing a parody of a death cab song
With all this hate for the twizzler lyric (it's a-ok to me) i wonder, would any of you have the nerve to suggest an artist edit their lyrics if you were in a producer role for an album? fun question
Really hoping they open with “I Don’t Know How I Survive” on this tour. What a fucking force of energy
nothing wrong on my end, I like it. thread doesn't seem to though haha so it made me think if anyone that's critical of it would step up to Ben and tell him to his face
this also got me thinking that someone funnier/smarter than me could write a good skit where Larry David was producing Kanye or someone else really terrible
Last two days have been perfect fall weather (to start fall nonetheless) and Death Cab discography has been the name of the game. Absolutely perfect time of year for any of their material and they clearly agree / know this looking at the release dates of most of their albums lol. Also, not a comment on AM but goddamn, “No Room in Frame” went from a song pretty sure I never heard to maybe one of my favorites of theirs. At least at the moment, I just love everything about it.
Hard to describe but I really like “Rand McNally” and have no issue with the twizzlers line. I think it’s because I like the story being told and wondering how many people are listening knowing nothing about Rand McNally maps and atlases and shit lol. I used to use them all the time but assume everyone below 25 only uses Google Maps or Waze or whatever, which is fine. But the song makes me think of numerous cross country trips with physical maps and print outs (MapQuest!!!!) and while I didn’t enjoy Twizzlers on any of those journeys, I enjoy the sentiment and little details like that in songs.
I didn't even know what twizzlers are. Shit, I didn't know what Rand McNally is, I had to google it. Phoebe sang about a pack of saltines, I also didn't know (but could guess that time around), I don't care that much, the lines are ok.
I don't like the Rand McNally atlas line just because it sounds bad to me lol. But yeah I'd never heard of it either.
Really regretting not getting a ticket for tonight sooner, it’s sold out now and way too pricy on stubhub. I should’ve seen them at Summerfest when I had the chance
