didn't they release, like, fleet foxes and some bob mould? seems like a much bigger alumni group, on paper at least
Absolutely - they are backed by Epitaph but maybe SH will put more work into Deafheaven than anti was
Anti- was always a weird fit for Deafheaven anyway. They were so out of place there other than being a bit of an indie darling. Sargent House makes a lot more sense sonically, and like you said, they have a pre-existing relationship of almost ten years at least now. They put out a vinyl pressing of their demo back in 2012. edit: also completely forgot about 10 years gone.
I fucking love this track. I’m happy that Deafheaven took a page out of the Alcest book and go full on shoegaze/dream pop.
"Outside of Loveless by My Bloody Valentine and Lord Willin’ by Clipse, I’m not sure there’s an album that better prepares you for its sound in its first five seconds than Sunbather." I mean, damn, yeah, fair.
jay did great this is definitely #2 for me New Bermuda Sunbather Roads to Judah Infinite Granite OCHL
New Bermuda Infinite Granite OCHL Sunbather Roads to Judah With better vocals Sunbather could move up at least to 3, possibly 2. Sunbather’s reach and influence can’t be denied though.
