Yeah, this is fucking sick. Probably the least out of place his cleans have sounded. Chorus hits like a brick wall, the music is super interesting and I love that spoken-wordish part in the second verse. Reminds me of "Gifts for the Earth"
This is what I said they should've done on Infinite Granite. Keep the black metal stuff, then add some cleans and shoegazey stuff.
Came here to say this. Didn't hate IG but I thought this is where they'd go. Fucking loving these two tracks so far.
This song reminds me of a heavier Villain off IG. They are absolute masters at incorporating dynamics and varying intensity to create something blisteringly heavy but also melodic and groovy. It’s insane.
Good song. A lot of IG is better tho imo. This energy is there on IG and it’ll forever baffle me that people think it’s boring. But it is what it is
It's not bad, but I think the juxtaposition between the shoegaze and black metal is what made the earlier records special. And I don't think he's a good enough singer to carry a whole record with clean singing.
