I enjoy that album as well. Just throwing out a comment that others might be making in other parts of the internet.
Crazy that people thought that IG was actually boring but I’m also a total shoegaze whore so that perspective is going to come into play on that.
That’s a valid criticism, it took me time to accept them but I like them for George’s willingness to express himself outside of his comfort zone and I think his vocals are genuinely cool but that’s my opinion.
I like the songs and instrumentation on Sunbather, I just don’t like George’s vocals on that album (or before it).
“That spirit of playing fast and hard has been… | Kerrang! Interview that sheds a bit more light on the album. Sounds exciting!
I liked his clean singing on Night People, I think he sounds flat and uninteresting on IG I’m not a “only heavy music” guy and I like a lot of shoegaze, I just think Infinite Granite is dull and generic. Great Mass of Color isn’t bad but nothing else really stands out as interesting. they have a cool take on black metal, to abandon that for a mostly by the numbers shoegaze album was a bummer
That’s what I was thinking too and it would be perfect. The Paul Banks feature is kind of telling too lol
Look I like Infinite Granite a lot but it was kind of one long Paul Banks feature when you think about it lol
