The breakdown in Magnolia gets me fired up every single time man. Selfishly need more of that from them lol

 

The opening 2+ minutes of Winona give me the same vibes like I'm watching Midsommer, and that's awesome. This weird, warm, arthouse vibe, but there's also something sinister under the surface.

 

Going to take something extraordinary to top this as my AOTY. It’s the only album I want to listen to.

 

Revisited it this morning and I just find more and more to latch onto. The way the last three songs flow together is simply unreal

 

This album is such a ripper. Personally prefer it over Sunbather (hot take)

 

came back to this after a couple weeks away and woof did it hit

 

2 thoughts: Incidental (II) has vibes like later Daughters as well as King Woman especially with the female singer.

How did they even create Amethyst? Unreal. Only song in my limited amount of musical experience that comes close to that kind of build and swell is Caspian’s Arcs of Command(ok that song is goated).

 

Body Behavior reminds me so much of Celtic Frost

 

Maybe Mia Goth has been replaced by Sophie Thatcher.

 

Doberman finally clicked for me the other day - it was the last song I needed. Really loving the end of The Garden Route. George’s screams are top-tier there.

 

No one even argues whether Deafheaven is black metal anymore, Infinite Granite made everything else seem like "trve" black metal.

 

Arguing over genres is one of the dumbest things people do with music

 

Have a playlist made of just this album, Dissection, & Immortal

it’s a cloudless sunny day. probably not the best soundtrack but it’ll do

 

Setlist is out. They play everything from Lonely People With Power with the exceptions of Body Behavior and The Marvelous Pecan Tree, as well as Worthless Animal, Brought to the Water, and Dream House.

Wish I could go in sac tonight. Been a tough week with the baby and can’t justify it.

Not playing Body Behavior is weird

 

The show was awesome and Incidental 2 into Revelator was sick as hell

 

Would’ve liked Orange Tree over Worthless, but it’s all good. Can’t wait for Thursday.

 

Seeing them in Omaha on May 2nd. Never seen them before and this felt like the right time to see them.
