I don't hear Davey Havok at all

 

i hear shades of both davey and turnover. but honestly it just sounds like a deafheaven song to me lol. a whole new kind of deafheaven song but a deafheaven song nonetheless.

 

yeah i don’t listen to afi enough to comment on that. i hear kinsella in the vocals like mentioned. it sounds like slowdive most out of anyone to me lol.

100% Kinsella in the vocals and Hum in the distorted guitar tone. Don't hear Davey or Turnover whatsoever

Davey is a phenomenal singer whether you hear him or not that’s a great comparison

 

Don't really follow this band anymore. Did the guitarist ever address his use of homophobic slurs on Twitter, or did everyone just forget about that?

 

I met Davey once, nice guy. I got a picture with him but he blinked so I'm not gonna share it out of respect to him

 

The chorus on this song is so so good

 

AFI is my favorite band, and I definitely think the Davey comparison is apt, at least in certain moments. I also hear some American Football.

 

Took me a few spins but I'm way into this track. I was kind of hoping they would circle back to the New Bermuda sound but honestly I think I'm more into them exploring something new.

I don't know if many people noticed it when it dropped so I'm just gonna drop this track here now. It's George with Danny L Harle and Trayer Tryon from Hundred Waters.

Yeah I forgot about someone joking around with his friend on Twitter 8 years ago, you couldn’t pay me to care, not to mention when it happened I was forced to come out as bi on this website despite still being mostly closeted just so my opinion would be viewed as valid on this toxic ass website so forgive me for forgetting something so trivial that led to a traumatic experience on this site for me

I'm sorry that happened. I'm just not interested in listening to a band with homophobic members, which is why I asked the question.

 

Listened to the track again today and okay yeah I'm hyped. Took me a bit but this is gonna rule

 

There is maybe like 3-4 minutes total of screaming on this - it’s wild

 

And the majority of it happens on the last 3 minutes of the final track haha

 

So I’m guessing the single is a good representation of the whole album? I guess I’m a little bummed to hear there’s such little screaming, but I do absolutely love the new song so I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.

 

Love that they’re using the “screams” for texture at the end of this track, really cool

this band was incredible live and I’m glad I saw them when I did, but I’m all in on this new direction

 

Man just was not expecting a new record from them this year, and everything we’re hearing about it has me quite jazzed.
