I was revisiting OCHL the other day, wondering when we might get new stuff. It's been forever since the Roadrunner news.
I would welcome a return to their metal leanings. I remember listening to a podcast George did back in 2023 where he seemed to indicate or imply that they would be incorporating more metal this time around
The clean/dirty vox ratio on Infinite Granite was pretty much optimal for their style imo but I'd be fine with them dropping the harshes entirely at some point or for a whole album.
That teaser definitely has a little nod to Sunbather. I hope there's like a 50/50 split of heavy and soft. A 24 minute closer sounds good too.
NB still my favorite of theirs So many great melodic guitar lines on there too even with it being more “metal”
Same, and Luna remains my favorite song from them almost ten years later. Just such an incredibly powerful and moving song and album
New Bermuda soundtracked some of the worst depressive episodes I've ever had in mid-to-late 2015, it's such a shame that it destroys me emotionally because it's a really impressive record.
I hear you as it came out during the onset of the darkest period in my life, but it’s an album that has withstood that period of time for me and has brought me a lot of comfort throughout the years. Not all albums from 2015-2017 did withstand that time for me and, frankly, are a bit uncomfortable to listen to. I’m glad New Bermuda and this band did not go that way for me
