the mastering on this feels a little off though. the levels song to song feel a bit odd. maybe it’s a dolby thing though.

 

I love this.

They definitely lean into more post rock/shoegaze on this than their previous work. I would still say that I find it to be more of a continuation of their sound rather than a reinventing.

I am one of the weird ppl where Sunbather never really clicked for me but NB is one of my fav heavy records of all time and also thought OCHL was really good too but didn’t have as much staying power. excited to finish this, only made it 3 tracks in last night but it was off to a phenomenal start.

 

Yeah there's plenty of parts that screamed vocals would fit just fine over.

 

while this is true, almost every song on here would have stuck out as an outlier song though, with gifts for the earth probably being the most similar thing to anything on this

 

listening to this now and it's pretty incredible. I also really dug Sunbather but nothing since then as much, but this album is sure to turn that around.

Honestly? I prefer George’s vocals here over his black metal screams.

 

I had 0 idea there wouldn’t be screaming. Maybe I just forgot listening to the singles if I ever did. But yeah that first song was a complete whiplash from what I expected. Sounds good though.

 

What a gorgeous album. Love this more than I expected

 

OCHL > Sunbather > IG > NB

All are good

 

Keep seeing posts on instagram of the picture disc, looks so fucking cool

 

maybe next album will be like neptune synth passages but with blast beats

I love Interpol. Even their newer material!

 

I was late on them but Interpol's Turn on the Bright Lights was huge for me in college

 

get a load of this, i bet this guy likes paul banks's rap career too

 

marauder is their second best album

 

Only bad Interpol album is the self-titled

 

Really liking this! It’s definitely not a one to one comparison but I feel like I’m walking through the same enchanted forest that I do when I listen to Kodama when I’m listening to this lol
