I'm really excited to listen to this with spatial audio.

 

I know Mombasa is getting the hype but Villain is the stand out for me so far. Somehow this band always takes fairly simple melodies and turns them into something special. Straight HEAT.

 

If they play Neptune Raining Diamonds live...

this is the best album ever made

 

You all weren’t kidding about Mombasa, what a rewarding way to end the album. I can’t wait to listen to this a bunch more tomorrow to really dig into all the layers of guitar.

Yeah this record is fucking awesome. Love this direction for them.

Never expected to say this but I think this is their best work to date. Goosebumps at the end of Mombasa. This is going to get some repeat plays. What an album!

 

I don't think it tops Sunbather or OCHL for me but it's really impressive.

 

Hoping this might be my entry point to the band

pretty good stuff all around. sure to be near the top of the end of year list.

 

Had a rough night of sleep and was going to skip my routine morning walk but was like "no I gotta go so I can listen to Deafheaven" and yeah this is fantastic, re-energized me for the day

Also the color palette for this and the Sunbather artwork are just really aesthetically pleasing.

 

Nick really does his best work for Deafheaven.

 

I think this will be. It's definitely more accessible but still shoegaaze.
